Position Summary: Teaches preschool children in a classroom setting, providing academic instruction that is developmentally appropriate for preschool aged children and utilizes all resources available that prepares children with school readiness skills.
Implements curriculum, on-going observation, assessment and child outcomes systems consistent with program policies and the Head Start Performance Standards. Classroom program director manages the operations of the Head Start Classroom and assures the daily compliance of the entire center. Ensures that the classroom is successful and is in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers. They work as a partner with families in the health, attendance and education of their children.
Job Type: Full-Time, Program Year (August - May)
Starting Pay: AA: $19.13 BA: $21.68 MA: $24.24
Education Requirement: AA in Early Childhood Education or BA Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; OR BA in Elementary Education with a ZA or ZS endorsement.
Related Experience: Experience teaching in an Early Childhood setting and Supervisory experience.
